Scouts - Boathouse Camp

We had spent one night at the the boathouse on the B.P. Weekend, but this was the first real camp for the year. Considering the size of the troop at the moment, we had a good turn out of scouts.

As this was to be Ashleigh's last activity with us before she goes overseas, she took charge of the camp and had a full program. First item on the agenda - cleaning the bay. Germiston lake has a terrible problem with weeds and our bay was choked with the stuff and not usable. By the end of the morning, we had taken away two full trailers of the stuff. In the afternoon, a friend of Jolene's was kind enough to bring his snakes around for the scouts to interact with.

Sunday was really focused on test passing and except for some training sessions in the gig, no one got on the water. Michelle and Jennifer focused on meeting their training objectives, which was good for the younger scouts as they all learnt from the experience of the older girls.
