The district gathered at
our boathouse to celebrate the life of Baden Powell. Our troop is quite
small but everyone was present and we looked sharp. Unfortunately, the same
cannot be said of the cubs as less than half arrived. But in general,
turnout from the district was quite poor.
We started the day off with
a parade and a Scout’s Own which was put together by 1st
Brackenhurst.
After the service, we took
on the district in a canoe polo competition. There were some really good
games, especially between the junior scout teams. As expected, our senior
team were too strong for the opposition, although the Wychwood scouters team
put up a good fight. At the end of the day, we won all three sections
followed by the various teams from Wychwood.
