Scouts - Canoe Polo Competition

This year the scouts had put in many hours of practice in the lead-up to the competition and the seniors especially were looking very sharp. We still had a size and strength disadvantage to the teams consisting solely of boys, but at least we were prepared and the whole senior team have learnt to roll..

We entered two scout teams and two cub teams. Eastleigh were there in force with 9 teams, while Benoni and Florida combined to enter another 3 teams.

The cubs were looking good, having practiced a couple of times. After entering two teams, some cubs didn't turn up so one team had to play one short. This isn't much of a handicap in the cub section as the games are very slow. The main team came 3rd, behind two teams from Eastleigh.

The junior team, although enthusiastic, are positively diminutive in comparison to the junior teams of other groups. The general level of skill amongst the juniors is improving rapidly, but unfortunately not fast enough. The team took a couple of wins on the day, to finish 4th with the section being won by a combined Benoni / FLSS team.

The senior team really played well and had the beating of almost everybody. In the end, the superior strength of the Eastleigh boys team was to much for us and we went down in that game to finish second on the day
